CROATIA is acquiring the most powerful weapon our ground forces have ever had, it is unofficially reported.

After purchasing Rafale fighter jets, Mistral air defense systems, and contracting additional Black Hawk helicopters, the focus is now on equipping the ground forces with new powerful long-range systems with significant firepower.

By the end of the year, a contract with the USA could be signed, marking the most expensive acquisition in the history of our ground forces.

According to information from Jutarnji list, by the end of this year, a contract worth about $300 million for the acquisition of the M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launcher could be signed with the United States.

This would be the most expensive acquisition in the history of the Croatian ground forces.

According to available information, negotiations with the USA lasted about two years, and a completely new system is being acquired.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in the next four years, and the payment would likely be made through an advance and monthly installments. It is expected that long-range missiles will be purchased.

A system that dramatically changes relations in the region.

Currently, only three countries in Europe have it. HIMARS is an extremely mobile ground-to-ground artillery system on wheels. The system includes a truck, a fire control system, and a container with a capacity of six rockets.

The purchase of such a system would change relations in the region. In the region, no one has HIMARS. According to available information, in Europe, only Poland, Romania, and Ukraine have it. Italy, Latvia, and Estonia are acquiring them.

The arrival of HIMARS would dramatically increase the firepower of the Croatian ground forces and serve as a strong deterrent.

Index has sent an inquiry to the Ministry of Defense about this acquisition, and we will publish their response when (and if) it arrives.

Doesn’t really change much for Croatia. Other countries have, having a good navy is still much more effective than infinite Himars
