Taxation when importing products

According to the draft for the fiscal strategy of Montenegro 2024-2027, from January 1, 2025, VAT will have to be charged for all shipments, regardless of whether they come from the European Union or from third countries. This decision was masked by the ministry with the harmonization of legislation with the EU. The EU directive referred to by the ministry, and the Vijesti journalist himself (probably did a copy/paste, did not investigate it himself) 2009/132EU was updated in 2022, the limit subject to VAT payment was increased from 22e to 150e. What remains is to submit comments on this part of the draft. I’m not sure if it will bear fruit at all, but it is necessary to try, because you can make a PDF in 5 minutes. Comments must be submitted by August 7.
