The US says it has successfully practiced using a low-cost bomb to sink a major surface ship. China is taking note

The ex-USS Tarawa (basically a small aircraft carrier) was hit by a mix of 1-3 anti-ship missiles launched from surface ships (a mix of LRASM’s and NSM’s) and then walloped by a JDAM from a B-2.
I’m curious as to how the JDAM was guided-in.
Does anyone know if the Tarawa was underway or stationary for the test? I imagine JDAMs might have problems with moving targets. I also wonder if they are able to hit ‘broadside’ near the waterline on a ship or if they tend to hit on deck. I’m assuming the later since they nailed the same target 2-5 times, unless the hits were in quick succession. Interesting application/adaptation of existing systems, for sure.
