Japan's Matsushita wins 400m individual medley silver at Paris Olympics In swimming, Japan’s Matsushita Tomoyuki has won a silver medal in the men’s 400-meter individual medley.
This is the first Olympic appearance for the 18-year-old.

After the race, Matsushita said with a smile that he was so happy and satisfied as years of hard work finally paid off.

Leon Marchand from France, who holds the world record, won the gold with a new Olympic record, 4 minutes 2-point-95 seconds.
