Palestinian authorities: 30 killed in airstrikes on school in central Gaza Health authorities in the Gaza Strip say that Israeli airstrikes on a school in central Gaza have killed 30 people and injured more than 100.

The Israeli military said on Saturday that it struck a school where a Hamas command and control center was embedded.

It said that Hamas used the school compound as a hiding place.

The military added that it took numerous steps to reduce the risk to civilians prior to the attack.

Authorities in Gaza condemned Israel, saying that it committed a massacre by bombing a field hospital set up in the school.

They also said that 23 people were killed in Israeli attacks in Khan Younis in the south. It’s an area where Israel had issued a new evacuation order.

Footage taken by NHK Gaza office staff at a hospital in Khan Younis shows numerous injured people being carried in.

A man there said that people were buying groceries in the market when the airstrike occurred.

Health authorities in Gaza say that the death toll since October 7 has reached 39,258.
