The commander of the National Guard of Ukraine says he believes large-scale offensives by Russian forces will not last long.
Oleksandr Pivnenko told local news agency Ukrinform on Thursday, “It’s difficult. But the enemy’s offensive capabilities are not limitless.”
He also said he believes that in a month and a half, Russian troops will not be able to conduct active assaults in multiple directions at once and will be on the defensive.
Russian forces are continuing attacks on energy facilities in Ukraine, forcing the country to import electricity from other European nations.
The Ukrainian state-run utility company Ukrenergo announced on Friday that its facilities in Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions were attacked by Russian drones, which has hampered its electricity supplies.
