China revokes anti-dumping duties on Japanese steel Japan’s trade ministry says China has revoked its anti-dumping duties imposed on stainless-steel products from Japan.

The ministry says China lifted the duties of up to 29 percent on Tuesday. They affect steel used for a variety of applications, including making vehicles and ships.

Beijing introduced them in July 2019, saying Japanese stainless-steel products harmed China’s domestic industry by being sold at unfairly low prices.

The Japanese government filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization in 2021, claiming that the measure violated international trade rules.

The WTO last year upheld Japan’s complaint and recommended that Beijing take corrective steps.
