I [30 F] just moved into my first own apartment, which has been my dream for the longest time. I love interior decorating to the point where it has consumed my life these past few weeks.
Now I just found out that the previous tenant died in his bed in what is now my bedroom and he wasn’t found for two weeks. Apparently it was so bad the entire apartment had to be renovated.
I’m a very squeamish person, to the point where I have been a vegetarian since I was 12, mostly because meat freaks me out. I have always been super uncomfortable around anything to do with death and decay. Ironic, that this is what happened in my first own apartment. How do I get over this and feel comfortable in the space?
Edit: If you want to see the apartment, here’s some pictures linked. There’s also a smaller second bedroom not pictured because it’s just full of boxes right now and it’ll be used as a home office eventually. The room with the rug is the bedroom where it happened. Apartment pictures
Edit 2: to the people sliding into my DMs, wtf is wrong with you? You really want to fuck in a corpse room or what 😂

Very nice. An apartment to die for!
Who paid the rent for those two weeks?
Also nice work you did, I didn’t see any corpse so you really managed to make the place yours!
you get two adulting lessons for the prize of one. embrace the opportunity for growth and stop whining.
People die in apartments all the time. Just because this one wasn’t discovered for a few weeks doesn’t mean much, it’s more common than you’d think.
Enjoy your new place.
Maybe light a candle for the person who died there and then just move on from this fact.
Also, adopt a cat or two. They will keep ‘evil spirits’ at bay 😉
I mean if you didnt notice anything before knowing the fact then why care? And they renovated the apartment as you said so there’s notihng left of him, excuse the pun.
Burn a sage smudge
I love your interior decoration – i’m definitely taking inspiration from your apartment for my future apartment, thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures!! 🙂
Grow up!
