At least the Juntas spectacular failure in Cyprus led to their downfall in Greece. Sucks that Cyprus pays the price for their hubris.
People also need to remember the involvement of the CIA and the US. How Ioannidis was a literal puppet of the Americans to solve the problems Cyprus was causing between the two NATO Allies (Greece and Turkey) during the pinnacle of the Cold War. Karamanlis was not any better btw. Traitors both of them to the American interests.
