US President Joe Biden mistakenly referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “President Putin” during a news conference. The error comes as calls grow for the 81-year-old to drop his reelection bid.
Biden spoke to reporters on Thursday after the NATO summit ended in Washington.
He introduced Zelenskyy at a post-summit news conference about aid for Ukraine.
Biden quickly corrected himself and said, “I am so focused on beating Putin.”
Media outlets were quick to report the gaffe. Concerns about Biden’s age have been growing.
