So, I am a turist in Bulgaria and I keep seeing this kind of posters. What are they for? I don’t understand the language. I guess are some kind of announcements regarding people that have passed away.?
I am also from an Orthodox county but we don’t have this tradition.. And I was really curious.

Obituary. We put them on trees which are at or right outside the place of residence of the deceased/his family. We also put them on our front doors to the yard or the home/apt, as well as on the person’s tombstone.
Personally I don’t really like it but most of our babushkas are hellbent on keeping this tradition so it is what it is.

It’s an obituary as you guessed.
They are very common in Bulgarian towns and villages.
Local newspapers also have them near the back.
Its a type of Memorial for respect for those who have passed away that live nearby very common in Bulgaria to put those up of people when they pass.
