Cannot blame only Trump. The last decades of European “skinny jeans” policies and lack of understanding of what is the “price of freedom” has led to this. It is all our COLLECTIVE fault, US, Europe and rest of the world population that “just want to live in peace”. We have seen the rise of North Korea nuclear detente, Iranian proxies, a more and more aggressive Russia and China, and done nothing but become more dependent on them and allowing those regimes to fester like cancer. The price will be paid, and it will be more expensive the more we push our correction.

    >It now seems likely that Donald Trump will win the presidency of the United States. If he does, this should bring an end to our abiding fantasies about a special relationship.

Let’s not mix party politics with country relations. Trump and Boris would have been pals.
