I’ve noticed that before the September ethnic cleansing, this type of local bread seemed to have been far more popular in Artsakh than Lavash, as is common in Armenia. Now, the refugees from Artsakh have opened some bakeries where they sell it in Armenia.
I’m wondering if this type of bread has a local name among Artsakhtsis or if it’s just called “Tonir bread” or something.

If they’re filled with herbs and greens, they’re jingalov hats.
They were originally eaten during times of famine, but are now more popular.
