they do big reports and such, so they are a bit more of a magazine than a newspaper.
Generally high quality with a left-liberal slant; they’ve had their issues but i think their work has improved recently. Crucially, they do a few things no-one else still does, like in-depth reporting on important court cases.

I applaud anyone creating and consuming actual news (no 20Minuten and Instagram are not news) no matter the political bias.

I think they’re doing really important work, and I support them via their crowdfunding because of it.
I don’t end up reading the actual articles as often as I’d like to say I do, but that’s because I’m generally bad at following local news, not because I think any other newspaper does it better.
I think their unique funding structure allows for a lot of super valuable deep dive work that ad-based news sites can simply not provide.
