  1. Beara, Mitic, Bobek are some that i recognise from my dad’s stories… also Beara is really uncommon name so it stands out

Some very interesting faces here, Rajko Mitic for example is one of most famous Red Star players, they even named their stadium after him. Stanislav Beara played for both Hajduk Split and Red Star, then there is Stjepan Bobek who spent almost all of his career in Partizan, or Vujadin Boškov who is probably one of most famous players from Vojvodina (he also was the manager of Yugoslav national team on EURO 2000, and had pretty succesfull manager career in Italy as well)

Yes of course, i know all of them, most of them have legendary status in their clubs and in general with football fans. This Yugoslavian team of 50/60s was in world’s top 8 teams for sure, won 3 silver medals and one golden in Olympics from 1948 to 1960 (when Olympics were basically same level as World Cup since senior players were allowed), played finals of Euro 1960, 2 quaterfinals at World Cup in 50s and 4th place in 1962.

  4. Boskov was a Legend for Vojvodina player, Roma and Sampdoria as a coach, he was the last coach to take Serbia to the euros before the current coach

  5. As a Partizan fan, had to concentrate on Stjepan Bobek, the man played 478 games and scored 425 goals for FK Partizan and is still out top goalscorer to this day.

He also scored record 9 goals in a single match in the Yugoslav first league in a away win in Niš 1:10, was a first goalscorer for Partizan in the Eternal derby and scored a goal against Sporting Lisbon in a 1955 3:3 draw which was a first ever game of the European Cup.
