Palestinian Olympic Committee: Over 300 athletes killed in Israel-Hamas conflict The Palestinian Olympic Committee says over 300 athletes, referees and sports officials have been killed in the conflict between Israel and Hamas that began in October last year.

The president of the committee, Jibril Rajoub, told a press conference on Wednesday in Ramallah that at least six to eight Palestinian athletes are expected to compete in the Paris Games this summer. He said three of them would likely be from Gaza.

Rajoub said a Palestinian taekwondo athlete has qualified for the Games.

He added that all sports facilities in Gaza were demolished.

Rajoub said a Palestinian weightlifter had lost 20 kilograms due to the war, emphasizing that many athletes have been forced to endure a harsh situation.

The Paris Olympics will open on July 26.
