Quite an idiotic claim. I would rather say napoleons or hitlers empire, depending on which country runs the eu now. Germany under Merckel for sure but i think now France under Macron is dominating the eu
My preferred analogy when talking about EU is the Soviet Union. Mainly because of the ideology. Related to how it’s governed EU is more similar to the Austrian Empire. And sure, some territory overlap goes into the direction of the Roman Empire.
