Nice people and I find the language pretty cool. Also great scenery too, espescially the island archipelagos.
In Ohrid, I find the Greek tourists that come in the summer to be some of the most respectful and nicest to deal with.

Very beautiful country with fundamentally good people.
That being said, national-populist politics and fear mongering can make good people do and say horrible things. Luckily the percentage of such people is very low, although they tend to be very vocal and paint a bad picture. The reality is very different though, our southern borders know it very well.

I like the people in the south, the Hellenes. They’re generally nice people.
The ones in the north though, the Aegean Macedonians, that complained the most about the name are the worst.

In general, the normal class of people who is not politically involved in the case itself, dont really care, we are all Balkan we all have something in common, most Macedonians take their summer holidays in greece so i would say on both sides most of the arguments that the politic is stereotyping is political and has nothing to do with us normal people trying to enjoy a gyro and a nice beach not having to travel all the way to Croatia or smth like that

I love greece. Its a shame greeks dont like us. My family grandma and grandpa were drom aegean part of todays greeces macedonia, and they were thrown away from their homes by Ioannis Metaxas, they took all their money and property. Even killed lots of Macedonians there a genocide was made luckily my grandma and grandpa knew greek and they let them pass the boarder. Btw they walked from Thesaloniki to fking Skopje on foot. Even after all of that Greece doesnt like us and doesnt even want to give us the right to call ourselves macedonians and the country and hate us like cars are getting broken when we go to greece. And even after all of that, I still love Greece, their Language, culture. I also love the peopke cause i know that peopke are peopke we are all either good or bad. Personally hate that we cant live togather and be friends, cause I really have nothig against any people in the world. Lots of Aegean Macedonians hate greece because of what the gouvernment did to their families. But I know that the people who did that no longer are alive today, and that todays people greeks have nothing to do with that. Even after all that my grandma and grandpa always tought me to love people regardless if they are greeks because they forgave what they did. We have a big heart and its a shame when i see whats happening today, hope that one day we all live in peace and drink togather in joy!

So, I like the cities they are very beautiful and some people are kind to you when u go there,unless you are Macedonian,because of politics and that’s very bad. I personally can’t say anything bad about them,but have you heard their evrovision song?!? Its soo good ,and the Greek mythology also, I have a big interest in that. And I don’t have anything to say for them. But on the other hand, the children from Greece on TikTok are very disrespectful ,so it annoys me that they are pretending that they know something about history of Greece or Macedonia ,but they don’t know anything in fact ,and they are very stubborn about our flag and our language, and it’s not even the same or closely same.

The people are generally nice, the country itself is great especially the beaches. Nationalistic views exists on both sides, but we the macedonians are the underdog considering we do not have the basic human right of choosing our identity.
There is a background to this and Alexander the Great removed from all of it there are still issues where macedonians have beem wronged.
Still the people and the country are nice, ad any country they have their own problems.
The only issue is that greeks fed by political propaganda have been known to damage cars of macedonian vacationers.
Coming from Ohrid, there are a lot of tourist greek groups here, and I don’t see that we exert the same hatred or at all towards them.

I absolutely hate the Greek trolls. There is not a single thing shared from North Macedonia without a comment from a Greek or Bulgarian.
But apart from that, have nothing against Greeks. Love them to the bone. The funniest thing and biggest irony is that Macedonian culture is muuuuch closer to the Greek one rather than Bulgaria. And so many greek words in Macedonian that I am getting surprised every day when I hear my greek friends talking, picking up words we use. And irony – the claim that Macedonian language has nothing to do with Greek.

Macedonian born in the Midwest USA. Been to Macedonia never Greece. All my experience is with Greek/Americans. I find them similar too Macedonians. With the Greeks here in America most have been here in USA at least a few generations before most Macedonians I know. They’re more established here/huge community. Its been my experience that most Greeks I personally know are stuck up/view themselves as better than others, talk down to others, etc. Wether they are or not, they don’t know humbleness. Greek doctors, lawyers, restauranteurs, business owners or employees no matter their job/position/education seem to be this way. I don’t mean anything negative about it it’s just what I’ve observed. Like I say Wether deservingly they believe to be better than others or not, I think a little humility will take them a lot farther.

How do they feel about us? Mostly negative towards us. I had a few greek friends in a school that was 70% greek. Everyday I heard something about my nationality, history etc and I didn’t start it or say anything. If a teacher asked where I was from I would say it and hell would break out. I would say I don’t care about Alexander the great etc what good has it done for us financially, map wise expansion wise, nothing. Happened 2000 years ago I’m thinking about my people now and the future, the past is not important to us now. NATO the west wont help us let’s get along instead of fighting, nah forget it more hate spewed back at you.
Our government has given up so much to please them and they still stay salty and no respect towards us. So I can’t say too pleased things about them nor friendly. Even now grown up, a greek work mate at any company says hi to me where you from, oh you greek like me and that’s it it’s started already it’s no joke.
Anyway can say alot but I’m tired of defending my background to them but will always say I’m Macedonian and so will by kids and their kids forever to stick it to them. That country can stay mad I just hope our government doesn’t sell us out to bend backwards for them wish they would stand on their own feet and push back we don’t need them if they are like that

Not a fan, can’t get along with a people that reject your entire identity, probably the most hostile people towards us after SOME Albanians (In comparison, I’d say 95% of Greeks will shit on us just for our identity while Albanians as long as politics don’t get involved don’t have that many issues with us), and recently Bulgarians (But this was egged on by their politicians, our beef with Greece is way older), as a culture they’re cool and they have decent food and nice tourist spots and all that, but from a Macedonian POV, I fear Greeks won’t be our friends for a very long time, no matter how many people go there for vacations or how much they invest or whatever, relationships will always be on eggshells long as they reject our right to call ourselves Macedonian.

I love Greeks, their songs and their culture and their regional variations… As long as I don’t tell them where I’m from and I don’t come across them online.
I visit my relatives in Kastoria every few dozen years, my cousin there knows like 7 languages and is such a role model for his kids. The Greek side of my relatives are amazing people to sit down and drink and I have to give credit that if he wishes to ask me something he says it in Serbian or Greek-Serbian mix of some kind. I know some words but not in any capacity to hold a conversation.
Going to Greece for tourist and vacation reasons so much of my life from childhood to adulthood I can say it’s about 50-50 of what kind of people you will come across and some will be overtly hostile and disapproving of your stay or vicinity to them, the others are business people and just care how much money they’ll make that tourist season.
I’ve had bad and good experiences ranging from the same region/island/mountain/city to really consider it as a city specific thing.

I barely interact with Greeks in real life and even dough I never had a bad interaction with them, I know that some of us have had bad interactions irl. Greeks are either the most nice or hostile people I meet online. I don’t have a problem with a Greeks who don’t have a problem with us. With that being said, I absolutely take an issue with your denying of our history, identity and minority and absolutely believe that Aegean Macedonia is a stolen territory.

I would love to learn their language I think it’s very cool and sounds nice. I like their beaches obviously but dislike their states policy of wiping out the remaining slavs in the area. In the past 100 yrs they were sent to prison for speaking their language by metaxas, exiled from the country for supporting communists (which guaranteed them rights), despite being hated by their own state they fought against the fascist Italians in ww2 and got nothing but disrespect for them. Atleast 25% of Macedonians have great grandparents or grand parents from Aegean Macedonia. Until they are called Macedonians, and not “Slavophone greeks”, and until those slavs get the human rights that were taken from them, I believe there is no way our countries will have good relations.
TLDR: Love the people (the ones that respect our identity), love the beaches, hate their government
