The article discusses Azerbaijan’s critical water scarcity issue and explores potential solutions, including a proposal from Israel’s national water company, Mekorot, to induce artificial rainfall using silver iodide. This method, used in Israel from 1972 to 2023, is presented as a costly but long-term solution to the country’s diminishing water resources, which have reduced by 43% from their levels between 1960 and 1990. Additionally, the article highlights the urgent need for comprehensive water resource management in Azerbaijan, considering the country’s reliance on transboundary rivers and the effects of global warming.
