BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) – Beloit Health System’s Certificate of Need application to establish a NorthPointe Neighborhood Hospital will be reconsidered in January 2025.

Beloit Health System submitted the initial application for the expansion Oct. 29 but was turned down by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.

“We are disappointed by the Board’s decision but respect the review process and take their feedback to heart,” says Dr. Roger Kapoor, Senior Vice President. “Our commitment to essential healthcare services remains strong. We believe a local hospital and Emergency Room are vital, and we remain fully committed to this project.”

The proposal includes a new Emergency Room and 10-bed hospital.

BHS says they will continue working to strengthen their application, and asks the community to share their feedback.
