King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark have kicked off a two-day visit to Germany in style. The Danish king and queen are visiting Berlin to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Nordic Embassies, where they will be joined by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden and Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.
On their first day in Germany, Queen Mary looked regal in in a powder blue coat by Jesper Høvring, and a tweed pencil skirt from Emilia Wickstead. The skirt, per the brand, is “cut from a wool blend boucle. Woven with a ivory check motif on a blue base, this pencil skirt is cut to be fitted at the waist and is finished with a sensual split through the side.” Emilia Wickstead makes a matching crop top, but the Danish queen instead chose to pair it with a light blue blouse by Jesper Høvring.
To accessorize, she opted for a chunky blue headband, gold button earrings, and nude heels. She carried a nude clutch to complete her look.
According to the Danish Royal Family, this week’s visit is part of King Frederik and Queen Mary’s accession-related travel. (King Frederik ascended to the throne in January of this year, after his mother Queen Margrethe abdicated in a surprising decision.) The royal family noted, “The King and Queen continue the travel to Denmark’s neighbouring countries until October. Thus, the days of 21-22 October, The King and Queen will make accession-related visits in the German capital Berlin and with the Danish minority in Schleswig-Holstein. Denmark and Germany are closely linked through strong cooperation across the border when it comes to trade, green transformation and security policy.”
