Avolta has unveiled the latest opening in a new 30-year concession agreement in Switzerland, with the travel retail experience leveraging its combined retail and F&B offer in a brand new concept.

Under its deal with Tamoil SA, Avolta has unveiled a new offer under its Autogrill brand at the Herrlisberg Nord service area, opening new branches of its GranBar and Holy Cow outlets. As part of the long-term partnership, which will increase Avolta’s presence in the Swiss market, the company has created a new “one-stop catering, convenience and refueling concept” for the site.

The agreement underlines the increased capabilities of Avolta following its integration of Autogrill to create a combined retail and F&B “travel experience” company.

“Switzerland is a key market for Avolta, with operations spanning travel retail, F&B and convenience,” explained Avolta CEO Northern, Central and Eastern Europe Walter Seib. “We are honored to have been chosen as a partner by Tamoil SA for this long-term contract for the Herrlisberg Nord service area. We’re committed to making the journey as rewarding as the destination.”

The long-term deal also gives Avolta the capability to adapt to changes in the market and consumer trends over the course of the concession period, providing security and flexibility for both stakeholders.

“While market trends in F&B will evolve over the course of the 30-year concession, Avolta’s ability to adapt its commercial offer ensures we will meet the changing preferences of travelers over time,” Seib added.

Among the concepts Avolta has launched at Herrlisberg Nord, located on the key Swiss A3 highway, are Italian bakery, coffee shop and eatery GranBar, burger restaurant Holy Cow! And a Spar express offering fresh food and essentials.

The opening comes following the signing of a 30-year-deal between Avolta and oil company Tamoil SA, and will give Avolta access to drivers and passengers in 60,000 vehicles every day at the Herrlisberg Nord site.
