Last week, the new Hoyo de Monterrey Destinos went on sale in Andorra.
The cigar measures 5 7/10 (145mm) x 49, a vitola called sutiles within the formal Cuban vitola naming system. This is the first modern Cuban cigar to use this specific size.
In Andorra, it is priced at €44.75 ($49.50) per cigar or €895 ($990) per box of 20 according to Maori Tabacs S.A., the distributor in Andorra.
When the cigar was announced last year, it was described as a release that would be exclusive to travel and dufty-free retailers.
As with other travel and duty-free exclusives, it has unique packaging, including boxes that are marketed as “travel humidors.”
