YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS. The European Union is seriously considering extending the mandate of the civilian mission stationed in Armenia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan stated in Parliament.
“The civil mission of the European Union is engaged in activities defined by the EU decision and cannot exceed the scope of that mandate. As far as I am informed, the European Union is currently considering the issue of extending that mandate.
From our perspective, until we have a signed and ratified peace treaty with Azerbaijan and an ongoing (if not completed) delimitation process, we have concerns about potential actions by Azerbaijan. Accordingly, we need a neutral third party to provide an objective assessment,” Mirzoyan emphasized.
