Europe Tibet Advocacy in Switzerland Continues, Expresses Gratitude to U.S. Ambassador

Dharamshala: On 22 October 2024, the Tibetan Parliamentary delegation consisting of MPs Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen, Lobsang Gyatso Sither, and Tenzin Choezin met with U.S. Ambassador Michèle Taylor of the Permanent Mission of the United States to the United Nations Office in Switzerland.

They expressed gratitude for her powerful statement about the critical situation in Tibet during the Universal Periodic Review at the United Nations, which sent a strong message to China. They also thanked her for the U.S. government and public’s support in establishing legislation regarding Tibet.

The delegation briefed her about the urgent situation inside Tibet and urged her to release statements and organise side events at the United Nations. They also commended the U.S. government’s clear stance on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation issue.

They presented her with an appeal letter signed by the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. The meeting was also attended by Representative Thinlay Chukki and UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Topgyal.
