Eight out of nine banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina are Western, which reminds of the occupation. This was said by the President of Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina region) Milorad Dodik.
„The very fact that eight out of nine banks we have in the country are foreign is indicative. The West has set up a system of correspondent banks with us, so all the money coming in or out of Bosnia and Herzegovina at any given time goes through Western banks, like Deutsche Bank or some others. It’s a kind of occupation”, he said.
The President of Republika Srpska noted that this creates a big problem for the functioning of the state. “If any question or dispute arises, then we ask who to ask, who to complain to.“ Dodik emphasized that the state will look for alternatives, but at the moment this is “hardly feasible”.
„Of course, Russia is a large country that can afford to provide its own financial and payment system, such as the Mir system, to be self-sufficient. We are surrounded by NATO and surrounded by nations with whom we have historically had many problems, so it is difficult to implement such an idea at the moment, Dodik added.
