PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton’s Eligh Rivera is set to compete in the U23 United World Wrestling Championships on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28th in Tirana, Albania.

The 70kg / 149 lb sophomore will represent Team Puerto Rico in his third competition on the international stage.

“I am very excited for Eligh Rivera to wrestle at the U23 World Championships representing Princeton and Puerto Rico. Eligh has all the attributes to be a world champion, but most importantly, he prepares like a world champ. I know Eligh is looking to improve upon his Pan American Silver Medal and bring back gold to Princeton!” – Head Coach Joe Dubuque

In June 2024, Rivera competed at the U23 Pan-American Championships in Colombia, taking silver and second place overall after qualifying for the finals by defeating two opponents by VSU1 and one by VSU. Rivera also took 12th place in the U20 World Championships in Jordan in August 2023.
