Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva held the first round of talks with the Bulgarian side on the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement.
Ukraine and Bulgaria have also started drafting the document and have agreed on its key provisions.
“Ukraine has already signed 27 agreements to implement the Group of Seven Joint Declaration. It is very important to have such a document with Bulgaria as our strategic partner in the Black Sea region,” Zhovkva emphasized.
The parties agreed on a further schedule for negotiations to prepare the final text of the agreement as soon as possible.
Bilateral agreements
It is known that Ukraine has already signed more than 25 bilateral security agreements with partner countries.
For instance, Ukraine and Ireland agreed to start working on a security agreement in early May 2024, following talks between Zelenskyy and Harris.
