England Women U-19s’ new head coach Lauren Smith started with a win as her side began the Algarve Cup by defeating the Netherlands 3-1.
The Young Lionesses were two up in 15 minutes, Maddy Earl finding the top corner and Lexi Potter turning in from Princess Ademiluyi’s cut-back.
Earl doubled her tally for the day ten minutes before half time, as Ademiluyi claimed a second assist.
The Dutch replied early in the second half but that was where the scoring ended, with a 3-1 win for England.
England next play Norway on Monday 28 October at 1pm UK time.
