Kristjan Asllani and Tajon Buchanan are both back in full training for Inter Milan ahead of Sunday’s Serie A match against Juventus.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They also report that wingback Carlos Augusto is likely to be out until after the November international break.
This weekend, Inter take on Juventus in Serie A.
The Derby d’Italia is always a massive match. It is one of the showpiece fixtures for Italian football.
And as is so often the case with clashes between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri, this Sunday’s match has the feel of a potential title-decider.
Both Inter coach Simone Inzaghi and his Juventus counterpart Thiago Motta are dealing with a number of absences due to injury.
For Inzaghi, the problems have concentrated on midfield and the left flank.
And according to Sky, the Inter coach has a couple of pieces of good news from training today.
Kristjan Asllani & Tajon Buchanan Back In Training Ahead Of Juventus Clash
Since the return from the October international break, Inter have been dealing with a number of injury problems in midfield.
22-year-old Albanian international Kristjan Asllani picked up a knock in training just before last weekend’s Serie A clash with Roma.
And then Hakan Calhanoglu suffered a thigh problem during the win over the Giallorossi.
Considering that Calhanoglu is Inter’s first-choice option in holding midfield and Asllani his main backup, that has hardly been an ideal situation.
Nicolo Barella played at the base of Inter’s midfield trio as an emergency solution.
But according to Sky, Asllani is now back in full training. Therefore, he should be available for Sunday’s match against Juventus.
Meanwhile, it’s a bit of a different story for Tajon Buchanan.
The Canadian has been on the sidelines for several months recovering from a broken leg. Therefore, he will not be ready to be part of the Inter squad on Sunday.
However, Buchanan has trained with the rest of the squad today. Therefore, a return should not be too far away for the former Club Brugge man.
That is especially good news considering the injury to Carlos Augusto.
Augusto suffered a thigh strain during Inter’s Champions League match against Young Boys. Medical tests today confirmed that.
And according to Sky, there is a sense that Augusto could be on the sidelines until after the November international break.
