On the announcement from Mostar about the division of the Federation – and the establishment of a third entity, the so-called ‘return to factory settings’ in the case of confirming the Kovačević verdict, there were no reactions from the OHR and the European Union.
In the meantime, the Federal Television’s inquiry received a response only from the US Embassy.
“The United States of America has been opposed to further ethnic, territorial or administrative division of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 30 years and has repeatedly pointed out that it would constitute an anti-Dayton and dangerous action. The United States supports the concept of constituent nations, as defined in the Dayton Peace Accords, but such concepts do not include destructive ethno-nationalism, such as attempts to further the war aims of those convicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia of crimes against humanity, violations of the laws or customs of war and serious violations of the Geneva Conventions between 1992 and 1994, and participation in a joint criminal enterprise. As always, the United States strongly supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
