By Fr. Ilias Makou

A joyful graduation ceremony recently took place at “Logos” University College, one of the most modern Higher Education Institutions in Albania, founded and inspired by Archbishop Anastasios of Albania. The event celebrated not only academic achievements but also the values instilled by the Orthodox Church of Albania.

Representing Archbishop Anastasios, Archimandrite Fr. Anastasios attended the ceremony, while greetings were delivered by the university’s rector, Dr. Ilias Ninka, and the administrator, Naum Mile. Both offered words of encouragement to the graduates, wishing them success in their future endeavors, grounded in the solid knowledge and moral principles they gained during their studies.

Several professors and graduates also addressed the gathering, sharing their positive experiences and reflecting on the significance of their education. A highlight of the event was a video presentation showcasing memorable moments from the graduates’ time at the university, accompanied by the University Choir, which performed two songs.

Archbishop Anastasios’ message to the graduates, though delivered in his absence, resonated deeply: a call to not only build their future upon their education but also on a firm knowledge of God. He urged them to work for peace, love, and the progress of society, reinforcing the values that underpin the university’s mission.

“Logos” University College is home to three faculties:

  • The Faculty of Humanities and Languages, which includes departments of Social Theology and Religion, Preschool Education, and Greek Language and Culture.
  • The School of Applied Sciences, offering departments in Special Medical Laboratories and Applied Informatics.
  • The School of Economics, which includes departments of Accounting, Business Administration, and Tourism Management.

The vision of Archbishop Anastasios is to cultivate successive generations of individuals who not only excel academically but also embody the spiritual and moral “prizes” that illuminate the dawn of a new and better society.
