Japan's Boeing suppliers affected by strike Some Japanese manufacturers have seen their production affected due to an ongoing strike at US aircraft giant Boeing.

Subaru, which makes the 777’s wings, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, which builds the forward and mid fuselage, say they have pushed back their production schedules.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which manufactures parts for the wings of the 737 Max in Vietnam, says it has also delayed its production schedule.

The Japanese suppliers say the strike has had a limited impact on production of Boeing’s mainstay 787 aircraft.

Since the 1980s, Japanese companies have deepened ties with Boeing in producing commercial aircraft. Boeing says it has partnerships with 150 Japanese firms, making Japan the company’s largest supplier outside the US.
