Israeli attack on northern Gaza kills at least 73 Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera says an Israeli airstrike on the city of Beit Lahiya in the northern part of the Gaza Strip on Saturday killed at least 73 people.

Al Jazeera carried the report along with other media outlets, citing information from authorities in Gaza. The casualties in the attack on a residential area reportedly included many children and women.

Many people are also reported to have been injured.

The Israeli military has been once again stepping up its offensive in the northern part of Gaza. The military started ground operations in the neighboring city of Jabalia on October 6.
