King Charles arrives in Australia for first leg of tour Britain’s King Charles and Queen Camilla have started a tour of the southern hemisphere.
It is the King’s first major overseas trip since he was diagnosed with cancer in February.
The royal couple’s arrival at an airport in rainy Sydney on Friday night was welcomed by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
They are planning to attend a community barbeque this weekend to meet local residents. They will also visit the capital Canberra where King Charles will deliver a speech at the Parliament House.
Images of the royal couple have been projected on the iconic Sydney Opera House to welcome them.
This is the first leg of a 9-day tour. They will travel to Samoa next week to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
