Zelenskyy warns about North Korean troops joining Russian forces Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says North Korea is preparing to send about 10,000 troops to Russia. He raised the concern that the move could drive the conflict into “a world war.”

Zelenskyy made the remarks at a meeting in Brussels with leaders of the European Union. He had already raised concerns about North Korea providing weapons to Russian troops.

Meanwhile, at a news conference in Kyiv, the government official in charge of Russian sanctions, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, said those troops had been using missiles from the North since last year. He pointed to an analysis of debris from an attack last month on the city of Poltava.

Vlasiuk added that microcontrollers from the Netherlands had also been found in the rubble. He called for tighter restrictions on the electronic components used in making missiles.
