"Pop star Lily Allen has voiced her regret at refusing to accept payment in Bitcoins for a gig.

The "Hard Out Here"” singer was asked to perform on 3D chat website Second Life from the comfort of her home “about five years ago”.

She turned down the offer as the virtual currency was worth only a small amount at the time and largely reserved for experimental use in online games."

  1. tldr: “was asked to perform on 3D chat website Second Life from the comfort of her home”

For the modest fee of 200,000BTC

  2. Probably would’ve sold it long ago but it shows just how clueless everyone was, including me lol

  3. I mean, it’s kinda akward to compare it with nowadays price…

I’m pretty certain that even if she took 200,000 bitcoin, she would have sold them a long time ago…

  4. InclineDumbbellPress on

No way she wouldve held through all this time anyway. Now that I think of it – she could have if she didnt know how to sell or lost the keys. Or went to jail but thats not really a hypothesis. Anyways this is the same vibe as the old Bitcoin faucet at the time – oh if only I knew I would have claimed some for free

  5. Article is from 2014. Damn she could be the hell of billionaire.

But most likely she would sell at sight and never ever think about it

Only real believers hodled thru from that days to today

  6. Lmao, this is an article from ten years ago about an incident that happened five years before that. I don’t know who this singer is, but she was basically offered less than 2 grand in a currency she may not have been able to reliably use. I’m not sure what the point of posting this is.

  7. “She wouldn’t have kept them anyway.” it’s a nice excuse for those who are coping

  8. This makes me feel a little better than when my wife told me I couldn’t buy @ $75. (Ex-wife now, but still poor).

  9. Nobody held or could have held all of their Bitcoin. Bad take that is repeated every few years like it means anything.
