Highest is probably North Korea. They’re probably at like 40%. But I guess no data is hiding this

  2. What’s going on with Algeria and Lebanon? (It’s supposed to be from 2023 and nothing major happened in Lebanon

Now compare the gdps of the countries and turn the % spend into actual dollars….

Edit: reality is that US spend eclipses any other country by miles for the simple reason that the GDP is that much higher.

China is somewhere like 1/5 or 1/10 in spend compared to the US.

    Percentages are largely irrelevant

North Korea is actually about the same as Ukraine. And they’re not even at war.

  5. The way some people talk, about U.S. military spending. You would swear it took up like 50% of our budget.

However much the US spends on military I never realized it wouldn’t be such an unreasonable fraction of its GDP.. Europe needs to step the fuck up though

My 2cts is military spending is very much a prisoner’s dilemma; not spending much only works out if everyone is committed to spending very little. But since you cannot guarantee that for every other power— might as well

  7. The color edges are shit, of course, but shouldn’t Russia have a different color because it belongs to the category between 5 and 6 %, and the color on the map is from 6-7%?
