Grateful for the knowledge/experience of the good people of r/Finland.
I ordinarily use studded tyres for my van, but planning a roadtrip down to Germany/France over the new year (so can’t fit these). I’ve no experience with friction tyres on snow/ice, but have Michelin Agilis Crossclimate [https://www.google.com/search?q=michelin+agilis+crossclimate\]. These have the 3PMSF marking so I understand are technically legal in Finland for winter, but I’m not sure about safety/performance in Lapland (route being: Tornio, to Sweden and then down via Denmark.)
Good to hear people’s views, or if you’ve experience with these types of tyres in this environment?

I am by no means an expert, but relying on non-winter tyres in Lapland in Winter sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.
Had them and didn’t like them for wet performance and breaking. Loved Nokian though…( winters not all season)

These are not winter tyres but “all season” tyres. Those are legally allowed to be used as winter tyres, but their performance will always be way beyond what a proper winter tyre will do.
“Performance” in this case might be a measure of how likely you will arrive safely at your destination, or if you will end up in a ditch, or even wrapped around a tree.
I would strongly advise against these!
