Other Chinese makers also showcased their new EV models to reporters.

French automaker Renault and other Western companies are offering more affordable cars to compete with low-priced Chinese models.

Some officials from Chinese automakers were seen inspecting the booths of rival companies, including Germany’s Volkswagen.

Competition between European and Chinese automakers is expected to intensify as demand for EVs in Europe remains sluggish.
