South Korea’s military has announced that North Korea has blown up two roads that connect the two Koreas, the Gyeongeui and Donghae roads.
In a text notice to local reporters on Tuesday, Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff(JCS) said the explosions at the northern portion of the Military Demarcation Line(MDL) took place at around noon.
It added that the South Korean military is monitoring the situation and bolstering its vigilance posture.
Earlier on Tuesday, the JCS said it intended to take corresponding measures should damages occur from the explosions potential sound waves, vibration, or flying matter.
Last Wednesday, the general staff department of the Korean People’s Army said the regime would cut off road and railway links between the two Koreas and carry out work to fortify the inter-Korean border.
