With temperatures beginning to drop, it’s common at this time of year for Healy Rae’s to try to get into your house.
You need to try to seal up any points of entry from the outside. A Healy Rae can get through the smallest of openings, typically any hole bigger than their head.
It’s tempting to use expanding foam but they can easily naw through it, you need to use a sand/cement mortar or similar.
And don’t leave food or waste outside as it only attracts them.
If you do get an infestation, it’s best to call in the pros as they can reproduce at an alarming rate.

I used to work door to door a long, long time ago for about 3-4 months.
We were repeatedly told by management that it is illegal to keep knocking to solicit after 8pm (or 8.30, can’t quite recall) or at least was on 2007, without having been specifically requested to call back. It was one of the few things they were very, very strict on.
I’m doing a Google search now and not coming up with anything, so maybe they lied to us because they knew how bad form it was? Either way, it was too pushy for the often highly aggressive people selling alarms at your door (hated that job) but not too low for this fella.
