  1. I still don’t understand why Texas didn’t get rid of Cruz two elections ago. Everyone universally despises him regardless of party.

Colin Allred is an extremely impressive candidate. Ted Cruz is Ted Cruz. Even in deep red Texas, you have to believe that there is a chance sanity will prevail.

  3. Is this the first step towards turning TX blue? Or at least purple to a certain degree? I hope so….

  4. Hard to believe.

    Texans love Cruz.

    They keep voting him in.

100% to a man and child, they know he fled.

They know all that he’s not done for them.

    They still love him.

I hope to eat crow but my heart tells me he’s Texas boy.

Globally, Texas is known for Cruz. He is TX brand.

It’s not cowboys and football and cattle. It’s not.

Ask around the world anywhere about Texas and it’s Ted Cruz in the Top 3 things they say.

I mean I think it’s pathetic and sad that Texas had become this but they wear it with pride.

Again, prove me wrong Texas. Prove me wrong.

Some say the race is a toss up. I tend to agree. Everytime I see or hear anything about Ted Cruz, I want to toss up the last thing I ate.

Texas voting for the Canadian instead of the candidate from Texas is a perfect representation of the lone star state. Reminder, that star is a review.

I am here in Austin, and nearly 99% of the ads he’s running are scare tactic ads saying Allred wants to sterilize illegal immigrant children and mandate drag shows on military bases (that’s the newer ad, before that was demanding boys be allowed to play in girl sports and share locker showers). The other 1%? Oh, that’s the embattled Democrat DA in Harris county throwing her support behind him.

  8. I’ve been burned by this cruz lose hope koolaid before, but goddammit I will keep chugging it.

  9. I wish. Unfortunately, dumbass Abbott has put people in place especially in Harris County to prevent the Blue Wave from ever taking over.

    sigh.

  10. At this point Cruz isn’t even campaigning on his own merits as a good senator. He’s campaigning mainly on the argument that if he loses than Texas will be won by Harris and that would mean none of the swing states would even matter for the right.

    That’s it.

  11. >It also pointed to the candidates respective favorability ratings, with Cruz at 49 percent viewing him in a favorable light,

49% like Ted Cruz? They must only have asked likely republican voters.

  12. I certainly hope so. I’m voting against his cowardly stupid face the first chance I get. Which is next week.

I’m not getting sucked into this one again. To almost quote a famous Texan, fool me thrice, can’t get fooled again.

  14. This would be a great flip… but for some reason Texans keep voting against their own interests, and re-electing this guy.

Is he though? Being a better candidate or just a decent human being really doesn’t matter anymore in our elections

  16. Ted Cruz already shits on his base and they love it. Humiliation kink down in Texas I believe.

This weasel will win one more term, and then hopefully Texas will have flipped blue by 2030.

  18. The article says this, but I have seen a single Colin Allred sign in my entire neighborhood– _mine_.

I admit, in my heavily North Texas conservative neighborhood I have seen _fewer_ Trump signs and no Ted Cruz signs, I remember seeing at least half a dozen Beto signs. I’ve seen maybe two other Kamala signs.

I really _really_ want Texas to turn blue or even purple, and I’m going to keep voting like it’s going to happen, but I really don’t have high hopes for it. I know too many people that just don’t vote for a variety of reasons and they are all people that wouldn’t vote GOP if they did vote.

This should not surprise anyone. If Ted was running unopposed, he would still be in jeopardy. He’s ted Cruz. Kissing the ring of the man who called his wife ugly and his father an ally of Castro. If it wasn’t for trump and mitch, he would be America’s greatest embarrassment. He could lose his seat even if trump carries Texas.

How can people vote for Ted Cruz? Like he left his constituents to die and went on vaca. How can he ever be elected again?!
