ON PAPER, A JAM-MAKING PLANT (60 million) AND A SPORTS CENTER (40 million), BUT IN REALITY TWO BEAUTIFUL, LARGE FAMILY HOUSES were built in Diósjenő by a construction contractor from Fidesz. Let’s say there was no jam making cauldron inside (allegedly "broke down"), but I received one of the five (5) bottles of sample jam as a gift…
Some completely cheeky form of committing a "fruit processing"- if I count correctly, this is already the seventh such "fruit processor" plant, for which construction contractors who had nothing to do with fruit production or processing borrowed 50-500 million. Of course, nothing like that happened there, but don’t worry: when the "mandatory reservation"the few machines can be unpacked/sold, a "from a fruit processor" there will be a family house, a holiday home, or a workshop (which was probably already built with double the money). One of these has already been reported by the Integrity Authority, another is being investigated by OLAF, but on the one hand, who knows how many more there are, and on the other hand, this does not mean that the perpetrators will go to prison. On Diósjenő, however, the first "sports center" I looked, where I probably could have entered by accident. As it turned out, the gardener was the only one there, who readily showed the "sports center": an elegant, two-story family house with a few fitness machines, foosball and pool tables, I found a table there with the remains of a nice big brewery. Then the contractor appeared, who reluctantly showed the "fruit processor" too. Let’s say he complained, because it is said that only six of the 60 million won have been transferred to him so far, even though everything is ready (except for the jam making cauldron, which is not there). By the way, according to the locals, this contractor wins the village’s investments (I found only one such in the public procurement notice, the rest – and quite a few others in the area – were won by a company that, according to the company database, is no longer in his name. Anyway, Diósjenőre that’s not the only reason I went, I’ll talk about that soon.
