Subjective health improves with factors like being male, younger, employed, well-educated, free from chronic illness, and happier. On the flip side, caring for elderly or disabled family members, and having more children at home, tends to lower subjective health at the family level.(Turkey data)

  1. Anecdotal incoming: I have no hard time believing these findings. My brother works in local politics and has two ADHD sons (13 and 15). Every time he gets a break from work or kids he falls asleep. It’s like he’s been jetlagged for 15 years. Weekends offer no rest.
