Congress of Ukrainians in America meets for 1st time since Russia's invasion About 150 Ukrainian-Americans from around the United States gathered in Pennsylvania on Saturday for a meeting held every four years.

This year’s Congress of Ukrainians in America is being held for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine.

The participants exchanged opinions on continued support for Ukraine. They said it is important to strategically prioritize essential supplies and to persistently call for support as the spread of Russian disinformation in the United States has become a major threat.

A woman from Pennsylvania said the bombs were shocking in the beginning, but now it’s kind of an everyday thing, and it definitely needs more attention.

They also said they need to respond to the outcome of next month’s US presidential election, as it may have a major impact on future support for Ukraine.

The organizer’s chairperson, Andriy Futey, said the election is “going to set the direction” in terms of whether or not the US will continue to support Ukraine. He added: “No matter who wins the presidential election here, we will work with that administration. We will do everything we can.”
