A proper response to such an action by Iran would be to declare war on Iran, informing other countries that they have 24 hours to evacuate their diplomatic staff from Iran, and then launching a barrage of several hundred nuclear warheads against Iran targeting their major cities and the irrigation infrastructure that makes much of their country habitable.
