I have been on a lot of flights from the US to the Middle East. Sometimes we transfer through European airports. But every single time, they have gone out of their way to divert around dangerous areas like this, lately opting to cross the Mediterranean and swing all the way down around the southern tip of Sinai to cross KSA towards Manama, Doha, Dubai, etc.
Wtf was Air France even thinking with that flight plan?
