Russia is installing an EW device on their reconnaissance drones to try to defeat Ukrainian FPVs. This device scans for relatively strong video signals that indicate an FPV is near, and emits a stronger jamming signal at that frequency. Ukrainians are already aware of this.

what about making drones that can home in on jammers ?

The main chip RTC6715 goes for $3 on Aliexpress. The mosfet rectifier IRB3034 goes for less than $1. In all, there’s about $10 worth of electronic components on the board in the 3rd picture.

Honestly, seems like a decent idea in theory. I wonder how well it applies in practice

That doesn’t seem like it passes the smell test………

I bet they are working on, or possibly already have frequency hopping radios for these drones. There would be no way of jamming them then.
