    This series of maps is very interesting. I learned that the county that is 10-15 minutes west of my hometown has 1% or less black population. My hometown has a 70% black population. Such a drastic difference in such a short distance.

    Only the most and the least populated counties in the Birmingham MSA are at 20% or more (MSA is seven counties). Makes sense as Bibb is more adjacent to the Black Belt

  5. Judging by overrepresentation in the media, entertainment and advertising, you’d think it was at least 50% everywhere in the country.
